Can Anyone Have it All?

I have spent my life,
wanting and wishing,
ever so ambitous.

But no one I know,
has it all,
at the same time.

Likeable family visits,
warm friends nearby,
work you can survive.

Time to do hobbies,
down time alone,
and someone to love.

Love is the kicker,
it poses a challenge,
with it's variables.

Comfort is important,
security is essential,
but a passionless mix.

Lust is the oil,
in an engine of passion,
to smooth the rough spots.

But all of those ideas,
get confusing in the mix,
of any relationship .

Settling for too little,
of any one ingredient,
puts the flavour out of flux.

Our mothers told us,
fairy tale romances ,
are the stuff of books.

That growing up means,
letting go of romantic,
ideals and aims.

But loving a person,
makes it hard to tell,
if you're not "in love" as well.

Tullia, Tullia, Tullia... brava girl!

You should never settle for less than love if that is your aim. To have it all can mean nothing without it, for you are never truly rich unless you're rich in love. It is the axis of true happiness.

Keep up the excellent work, keep postin - I love it!

*hugs n kisses, etc* - jae

Embarassed

You guys are so sweet! I am happily living in my gratitude these days, thanks to you all. Dance, Linda and Jae, I apreciate the support. Jae you should write a poem about love being the axis of true happiness. What a way with words you guys have.

Wink
