CRAZY Doing Karaoke in Karachi

I love that song "Crazy"
Originated by Patsy Cline
I don't have to be coaxed
I'll sing at the drop of a dime

I sang it at a wake & funeral
Christenings and weddings too
All my friends and family
Know this is what I do

So here I am in Karachi
With colleagues having some wine
I haven't slept in many a day
I'm starting to feel just fine

We're celebrating great news
The tension is off my back
I cannot wait to get home
But for now I can just relax

The "karaoke guy" is setting up
Taking far too long for me
I commandeer the microphone
And he says "feel free"

I sit down at the piano
People looking as if I'm a loon
I start to play and sing away
I know it'll happen soon

Others start to join with me
I've never heard it sung this way
Punjabi and Urdu make it different
But who am I to say

The room is now completely mine
They're swaying and smiling too
I realize why I love this song
Because it reminds me of you

The last line gets me all the time
Having fun, yet missing you
Yes, it really is clear to me
"I'm crazy for loving you"

Dear Mdm Prez,
what a wonderful poem!
I could visualize the "craziness" of the scene, that slow and touching wonderful song in all its pride floating high above Cool all that mad karaoke-atmosphere ...
Applause!

Thanks for reading CRAZY!

I appreciate your comments. I'm glad you liked it.

Sometimes, though, don't you just feel crazy when you're in love?

Looking forward to speaking with you in chat to see how you're doing.

Ahh... beautiful Prez,

Sweet... funny... an absolutely adorable piece. Glad you were able to find some enjoyment while away from home by paying homage to one of the greats in my book... the goddess Patsy Cline.

Warmest Hugs,
~V~

Ma'am - that is so brilliant. Loved the last verse - suddenly adding a poignant touch to the humour!

Kisses,

Thanks for reading CRAZY.

I'm glad to see you like Patsy Cline too.

I think this song is so on point about some relationships we have. Sometimes you're just plain CRAZY.

BTW, this is totally true.

Thanks for your generous comments.

I'm glad you liked the turn at the end.

It wasn't planned, it just happened, as did my feelings.

I appreciate you reading it my friend.

MP,

It's funny, my mom, sister and I use to break out in song growing up like one of those cheesy sitcoms. One of those songs would be 'Crazy' by Patsy Cline. This brought those special memories back to my mind and for that I am grateful to you. I enjoyed your write very much. Hugs
