Finally
Oh I won’t complain
Or push your back
Up against the wall
I won’t even whimper
Or call, for you, again
I’ll slip out quietly
With the minimum
Ease and fuss, I’ll
Go, before you can
Even say, Sorry, No
I’m not ready but
Neither were the
Great Plains before
The arrival of floods
It’s not a fanfare that
I require, or a farewell
With accompanying
Sighs of regrets, I just
Need to know that you
Felt
something,
that
Final time, when you
Finally left…
And did you see me?
I crept to the side of you
Because I just needed to know…
What I,
what I, (what I…)
Meant
And do you know?
That even as I trace
My finger over my
Cross-cross scars
I’m glad I can
Finally say, we
Finally met
………………………

Finally
I'll give my two cents worth here:
I really like this 4. I read it as someone leaving you, perhaps a parent or a loved one, not a lover. It's tender and humble.
"And did you see me? I crept to the side of you" That kills me, it's so graphic and it "begs" without begging.
I'm still not sure I got it altogether. But it has such a depth of feeling.
