 Mel, my darling, everday
When I speak to her each time
She'll say 'Hello Gorgeous'
It fills me with love sublime

I feel my ego swell
Confident to the max
Don't need to look in the mirror
My self image is intact

However, yesterday she told me
She bought her girls three rats
I asked her what were they like
'Gorgeous' she said, just like that

So, now when she says 'Gorgeous' to me
I picture those little white things
Forget the platitude, I said to her
Save it for your sweet darlings

Do I sound in a huff, maybe so
But has it ever happened to you
To be called the same name as a rat
By someone you love so true

I guess I'll have to fight
For her attention all the time
I don't care what you say
I think this is a crime

Awwwww poor Mel......I can relate...my fiance' owns 14 hamsters, 3 cats, 1 flesh eating Parot "don't ask" , and 2 more birds. I told her I have been voted off the friggin island by a bunch of rodents. lol

I am really anti-rats.. when I met Elora, she had three as pets and she had one that slept in a tissue box on her window-cill. It freaked me out...completely.
