Periodicity
The pounding contretemps of womanhood
is one thing I would rather not endure
These aches and pains and messy(!) loss of blood
since age thirteen I have learnt to abhor
This monthly cycle is profoundly useless
I’m patently not meant for motherhood
This messiness just serves no useful purpose
but my body still behaves as if it should
And just to add to all this aggravation
I have to purchase items of hygiene
I waste my money on this irritation
consider this before you think me mean:
Such is the cost of all three hundred times
that if in youth I’d found a way to stop
sums show I’d save so many dimes
I could have bought myself a new laptop!!!
And yet my cycle still imparts some pleasure:
It’s timing is as solid as a rock
When all the world is chaos beyond measure
I’m still reliable as a ticking clock
So though I only dream of menstrual bliss
and once a month I’m still beset by agony
A Virgo...I still rejoice in this:
I love things with a regular periodicity!

Oh god, she's writing poems about her period.
Did she just write about her period?
Holy heck, I fear she did!
I can't believe she wrote a verse
Devoted to her monthly curse
I can only say, egads,
What's next? An ode to maxipads?
Pale, Pale, Pale. LOL

And from another Virgo. That was great. I laughed out loud at the end. Very well done.
