Grandma Update...

My 101-year old grandma saw the doctor today. She's lost 29 pounds in "extra body fluid" since she was hospitalized earlier this month. The diagnosis is congestive heart failure; however, she is getting stronger each day. She has moved to a more advanced facility, but she still walks to the dining room for her meals. She played the piano for the residents last weekend...

Her sense of humor remains intact, and her mind is sharp!

Thanks again for all of the support, ladies.

Several phone calls in several days...

My grandma seems to be declining rather quickly. She has glimpses of health, but the negative reports are coming more often now. She hasn't been staying very "regular" and was hospitalized the past two nights because of it. She is losing control of her system, and is beginning to describe things from her early childhood, yet has difficulty in real-time conversations.

A physical therapist will come in and give her a full evaluation to see if anything will help in her mobility, and another specialist will come in to help determine the best living situation for her...most likely a more advanced care facility.

............

In the mean time, my mom reported that my dad had surgery today to remove a bladder stone that was the size of a golf ball. Sheesh...

Thanks for listening, ladies...nice to be able to post here to get some stuff off my mind.

Thanks ladies...the word today was that my grandma was transported to an advanced care facility, but it may be temporary. Her sister has convalesced here when recovering from injuries. There is no phone in her room, so I will have to rely on other forms of communication.

Today's report on my dad was that te bladder stone was actually the size of a tangerine. Holy cow!! How much can the bladder stretch?? Now I know where my stubborness comes from...

Thanks for the support, ladies.
