Got those unemployed blues
This is just a chance to vent, cause I feel so frustrated with my situation.Since my return to OZ 5 months agoI have been trying to get a job that would help me move forward in my life here, as well as enable some savings toward a goal of returning to the USA in the event my lady and I find a way to be together. The job market has been shrinking due to the global financial situation and if you dont have the experience or high qualifications it's not easy. This week I finally had some real hope.
I was one of about 50 phonecalls about a casual position in a Hosp, kiosk that paid reasonable money for at least 25 hours a week
I was one of 10 selelcted to come in for an interview
I was one of 4 shortlisted and given a trial
I was one of 3 given a second trial
I truly felt I did competently and fitted into the system. The hours they wanted fitted in around my two cleaning jobs I already do and my one mornings recreation of skating.
They called last night, thanks for no thanks.
I know I have to keep trying and I will, but forgive me if today I just want to lie on the floor and cry. When you ae 10,000 miles from the one you love, somedays are just harder than others.

Noni,
I so feel for you honey...it's tough everywhere right now. But dont let it get you down...theres gotta be something better for you out there..Im told that things happen for a reason...and I keep on hoping so.
You will find what you are meant to do, love. Just don't give up.
(And...BTW....you are doing awesome with the non smoking! I am very proud of you! It seems it was easier for me to also kick the habit than I thought it could be. I started doing push ups everytime I wanted one....now Im getting healthier and stronger).
You know where to find me if you need an ear to bend.

Hi Noni!
Keep your head up and try to think postive thoughts. It is hard all over. Something will come through for you.
I can really sympathize because my job has cut our hours by more than half.
So hang in there it will get better.

Hey, how serendipitous that you should ressurect this topic today. A few days ago I had a call back from the place I trialled at to tell me the person they had appointed initially hadnt worked out, and offering me the job. I start tomorrow. So thanks to everyone for their good wishes, they must have had an effect.
