Hello, loves,
Now, I know that typically I don't post more than the occasional story story here and there, but I had an experience today which left me needing to seek out the "Moans and Groans" section.
I signed into a Yahell chat room called the "Lesbian Lounge." Now one would think that a Lesbian Lounge would involve lesbians, right? I didn't encounter a single lesbian. There were women trolling for men and men assuming that each woman inside the room was a woman for 'hire'. IMs with spam kept popping up for links to XXX webcam sites and such.
I'm a typically shy person. The fact that I even attempted to go into a chat room was a big deal but going in to the one I did left a bad taste in my mouth.
Was it just this one chat room or has the art of people sitting down to have actual conversation died away. I know I'm a big romantic, but surely I'm not the only one. Has anyone else found themselves utterly frustrated by shallow/false chat rooms? Thanks for listening.

So lovely to see you again. We miss you terribly...well, I speak for myself, but I'm sure the rest of the ladies do also. I hope you are well.
Those generic chatrooms are awful. They are full of trolls and spammers and teenagers just looking to be idiots.
I hate to say it, but our beloved chatroom seems to be empty more times than not, and I dont know what to do to fix it. It would be lovely to see you back here. We all miss the antics and charades that made it feel like the neighboorhood bar. I really do miss the way chat used to be.
Anyway, sorry that you had such an awful experience. Wont you come home now?

Horrible lesbian chat rooms with no conversation and no lesbians is what got me to search deeper and find Mels. ::sigh:: Mels, Mels, Mels.

It seems that ---as usual---- my family understands precisely what I'm going through or what I have to say. I just couldn't get over the shallowness out there. It made me that much more homesick for mels. *smiling*
Green-honey, I've missed you too. I'll try not to remain such a wallflower, okay. (((Green))) And yes, I too miss the old familiar bar of the chatroom, where a girl could pop in to get a drink or even simply sit down near the fire and read a good story/book, discuss whatever newest poem had been posted or simply just enjoy the comforting sounds of knowing your friends and sisters were nearby.

Yahoo's lesbian lounge is a joke....it's a mine field of false identities and shady characters....I think I threatened to to disembowel one of the male participants before I left....
(I had a very good reason believe me)

it is my believe that the Internet is really a black hole of false identities and people impersonating.
You have to be very careful to take a step and take it one foot at a time.
You really don't want to get sucked in all the lies.
As you discovered a public chat room should be renamed and shall hence be called a public ...
o hang on no cursing on Mels Web.
This environment is a safe haven.
Here you can relax and just dance your way from one conversation to another if you feel like it.
and to be honest but this is just me talking...
I prefer it this way.
This way, a smaller bundle of people who really seem to care and who knows that they all have a part at keeping this, their safe haven.
