Sometimes I wish...

Sometimes I wish I was obviously gay so men would stop hitting on me and women would start. Rolling Eyes

Hugs Yen but wonders what 'obviously gay' looks like?

Thanks Green. It's much appreciated.

Noni. I suppose you're quite correct. I don't know what gay looks like although I do tend to have pretty good gaydar. Maybe I should just deck myself out in rainbows and a shirt that says, "god's gift to women." or something else terribly predictable. The problem is that isn't me. *sigh*

Its not a lot of us sweetie. I guess the thing you need to do is put yourself into situations and places where there are morel likely to be more than the average 10% or whatever it is of gay women.

I really do just need to take a Saturday night and get myself out there. But sometimes my irrational fear of going into a lesbian club and running into someone from church or something overtakes me. Which is ironic since somewhere in my rational thinking I know that if they're there, they are either:
1) gay themselves
2) supportive of gay people
3) confused as to why so many girls are kissing each other without any prompting from katy perry

Thanks for the encouragement Noni. <3

That WAS funny!

They are right though, you just need to be in places where you will be around more women who are gay. We go to a lot of concerts that are pretty dang lesbian oriented. Or volunteer at a LGBTQ center? Habitat for Humanity is a good place to meet like minded people too.

We don't all fit a stereotype and sometimes that can feel funny. The other option, which seems to work well is to tell the first guy that hits on me that I am pretty darn gay, but if he knows any nice girls... Word gets out. It doesn't keep you from being hit on, but at least the girls know too!

Good luck. Once you break through the fear of running into someone you know you will find it to be much easier.

I like the idea of telling the first guy that hits on me that I'm gay. That seems like a smooth way to transition into what you want. I'd just be afraid that he'd then expect to watch. Rolling Eyes

Where do you find a lesbian oriented concert aside from the obvious Ani Difranco or Tegan and Sarah? I wonder if there is a LGBT center near me....*goes searching*
