So much, so much… Music to get you up in the morning, to bring you down in the evening, to wallow in, to lose yourself in, to inspire, to love and to love to..

I was never a massive kd fan – rebelling against type I suppose – but I adore her ‘Hymns of the 49th Parallel’. I never thought I could like anyone else doing Joni’s ‘Case of You’ or ‘Jericho’, but they are sublime, and her covers of Jane Siberry’s ‘The Valley’ and ‘Love is Everything’ are to die for, to cry for…just gorgeous.

Other CDs in the player these days… Josh Rouse’s Nashville (especially Sad Eyes, even though start sounds like REM’s At my most beautiful..), Kate Rusby, Damien Rice, Beth Orton, Nathalie Merchant, Aimee Mann, Belle and Sebastian, Sarah McLachlan, Bright Eyes, Jack Johnson, Nick Drake, and loads of folky stuff that I won’t bore you with!

my absolute and unquestionable favorite musician is ani difranco (the best at whatever she does), but i also love tori amos, damien rice, sonic youth, cock, i love riot grrrl music(hence the name) like bikini kill, sleater kinney, bratmobile, huggy bear, the butchies, cadallaca, team dresch, the frumpies (all of which i'm sure most of you haven't ever heard of these ladies, but they rock) there's also L7, seven year bitch, the donnas, julie ruin, luscious jackson, le tigre (rocks my world on a daily basis) the dixie chicks (shut up, they rock), the decemberists, cold cold hearts, fugazi, babes in toyland, born against, sugar shock, the whore moans, the murmurs (broke up now, but was lead by leisha hayley, who i've just heard is on the L word, so i must start watching) and oh my god, i should stop now...this has gone too far! but i love music, and not the bs they generally play on the radio.

no worries, grrl, most people don't. but you should listen to them, lots of female empowerment going on in that list...except for maybe the whore moans, they're basically just huge sluts who make interesting music...oh, and if you don't know ani difranco, then please please please find out about her Very Happy

fiddler...she is AMAZING live, i've seen her three times. the murmurs were just leisha and this girl heather (?) pretty folksy, some ofit sounded down right country, and i was okay with that. then they went electric for a minute before they broke up and that was bangin' as hell. my favorite songs by them were shadow (sad as hell, slow, acoustic), you suck (which ws actually number one in some country) and squeezebox days (which was on the soundtrack to "all over me" a movie that leisha co-starred in and it was the first song i heard by them.

anima...yes, you should do that. but really, you should buy it, cause she deserves to be supported.
