Fly With Me

The caterpillar is a lonely soul.
She blindly follows the rules that are placed before her.
She wanders through life, consuming what she can.
She does what is expected of her.
The caterpillar conforms.
The reasons behind the rules are not questioned.
She just consumes what she can.
Gorges herself on the material she can easily find in her environment.
Does she know? Does she know the magic?
Does she know this is all a preparation.
Does she know?
As her life continues, she begins to pull inside a tightly wrapped cocoon constructed of her own hand.
It is almost time to rest.
The time where she can no longer consume what is around her, but must continue to live on what she has stored away.
What is it that she has become?
Can she still live as a caterpillar?
Can she continue on this lonely path.
In her experiences she has consumed everything that is found easily in her environment.
Can she live?
Can she thrive?
The caterpillar, unable to move inside her cocoon, does not sleep.
She does not die.
She thinks.
She magically begins to realize that her environment is much bigger than she at first realized.
Time passes.
Does the caterpillar decide to longer be a caterpillar, or does nature take its course?
A question without an answer.
When the time is right, all caterpillars emerge from their tightly wrapped cocoon, that they construct themselves, as beautiful butterflies.
And she too will emerge in all her beauty.
She will fly.
She will experience life from a different perspective.
Life is no longer lonely.
Fly.
Is this a change?
Is it a metamorphosis from one being to another?
Outwardly it seems so.
We see the butterfly as a totally different being.
Different abilities, different interests, different experiences.
The caterpillar may not know what is to become of her,
but the butterfly knows.
The heart is the same.
She emerges from her cocoon as she was intended.
Beautiful.
Free.
Ready to fly.
Baby....
fly with me.
