A belated hello to you all..
I posted my sorry tale a few months ago - I think more for my benefit to get it all off my chest since its very difficult to talk about this issue with friends. I'm still coming to terms with it myself - it turned my world upside down It was the classic tale - mature (44), "straight" woman falling totally and utterly head over heals for her best friend. It ended very, very badly.
For the past few months I suppose I have been grieving the loss of a very dear friend and my first true love. I've also been doing some serious thinking: lack of long-term relationships with men, "crushes" on famous women, PE teachers etc and have come to the conclusion that maybe I ain't as straight as I though Who was I kidding ?!
At this stage I am even thinking of a move to the big city (I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone's business) to maybe explore this new aspect of me further. Better late than never!
I have lurked on quite a few lesbian and gay boards and this, BY FAR, seems to be the most supportive and mature so expect to see more of me, hopefully.

Sorry indeed to hear that things went so badly with your friend, Rainbownation, but perhaps some good has come out of the fact that you can now explore who you really are.
