A Bachelor's Degree in Homemaking
A college in Texas is now offering a Bachelor of Arts degree in Homemaking.
However, they are not admitting men into the program.
Any thoughts?

i have no problem with the degree offering... i have a problem with not allowing men to participate.... but as I remember this story being reported, its a religious college? (NOT that it should make a difference, but it seemingly does)...

Hi my name is Darkchylde and I couldn't sew anything proper in HomeEc. I will admit, I still can't sew beyond a button and I can still screw it up.
I will blame the cooking disasters on my partner who couldn't measure an ingredient if his life depended on it. (note my home ec partner was a male)

I think that men should be admitted if that's what they want. There is a growing number of men who stay at home with the children while their wives earn the money.

Yeah, it's The College At Southwestern, highly religious and almost (but not quite) as frightening as Bob Jones University. I have to wonder why they exclude men. Are they just trying to kid themselves? Women learn housekeeping, then are expected to Raise The Children and Tend The Home, while men go on to Get Real Jobs?
I'm not a raving feminist, just interested in equality. More and more women are pursuing careers; the stay-at-home husband is becoming common. I don't think the course is needed at all, but if it's available, it should be open to all.

ACTUALLY, the stay at home husband is likely MORE in need of the course than most women......
(i know that can be taken as an equally sexist statement but ......) _________________ " The sorcerers in life are created within each of us" --- Lynn V. Andrews
