My Poem
The Waiting...
Your smile is my peace,
Your touch is my pleasure,
Your gifts are my cheer,
Your love is my treasure,
Your hope is my promise,
Our future is my dream.

This was a very simple sentiment that I included on my girlfriends birthday card, it wrote itself. Afterwords, when we realized it really was a poem (and after she asked me if I plagerized it off another greeting card!!), she submitted it to an amatuer writing contest and I won third prize! As a courteousy it was copyrighted for me and has been submitted to Hallmark for consideration. It will also be included in a compilation book that will be published in 2006. While I am proud of being published, I am also humbled in that in a world of great poets, this is nothing spectacular, just very honest feeling that came straight from my heart, inspired by my darling.
