Rotting and Rising

in my emotional hell
there is a smell
of death and desertion

my life rots to pieces
unless i pick up the paces

i see funny faces
and i'm laughing at myself again

finally i choose to fly again

will i ever rise again
will i ever know that my heart is my best friend

and all the lovers and crazy friends
i had and lost
will never know the price I've paid
or how to count the cost.

living is for learning
and that i've been told
for i have been yearning
for my life to unfold.
