Sunshine in my pocket
You can’t have sunshine
In your pocket
With moonshine
On your breath
I spent twenty plus years drinkin’
Dancin' to a song, I now call death
It’s a slow and wicked love song
That really draws you in
You’ll get lost inside the melody
And play it over and over again
The bass will pick up its' rhythm
You’ll begin to tap your feet
Before you know it you’re dancin’
As your body gives in to the beat
Pretty soon the tune starts changin’
You never noticed the bridge come in
Now your thinkin’ hard about jumpin’
You gotta make the damn song end
You try to turn down the volume
That keeps playin’ in your head
You no longer feel like dancin’
And find it hard to get out of bed
So I had to make some tough choices
Learn a new song, a different dance
Try and write some of my own tunes
And give myself a second chance
'Cause you can’t have
Sunshine in your pocket
With moonshine
On your breath
If you’re caught up in this melody,
I hope this tune scares you to death

I learnt a tune very similar to that a long time ago... another great write Rachelle... I love your topics and the emotional way you write them. Awesome work, and if that poem comes from personal experience well done... Not ever an easy thing to do.
