On a given day here it may be frigid
feeling like blizzard wind coming off a mountain of snow
like the cold would fracture your very skin
and the next (like today) it's 66(F, or 18.888 C)
and you want to undo every clasp on your clothing
and run about dressed for summer,
whether that warmth actually warrants it or not.
No consistency, I don't know whether it's a good thing because it keeps you
at the ready for a wider range
or a bad thing because it jerks you about like a yo yo.

Reticent in a crowd
reticent in my words at times
but never mistake it for cool, distant, formal,
and certainly not disinterested,
I'm just an introspective thinker/feeler
who skipped whole courses
in the social interaction category, namely:
"How to be Clever, Witty, and Charming at all times"
and also:
"How to never Be At a Loss for Words"
Certainly there are times I regret not having perfected these
but it has always been my hope that the depths of my thoughts and feelings,
would not be found friable
and therefore somehow make up for my shortage
of social arts.
Time, which runs to the past
leaving us all holding the bag of the present,
I'm hoping will in this instance be a friend
and bear witness to what I believe
that in the end,
the most important things in this life
are the only ones we can take with us out of this world
because they are not anchored to cumbersome matter. . .

Last night, i was a pedestrian,
walking in the sunshine, along a cobbled way.
I couldn't follow any particular train of thought,
But wandered where my heart lead,
lost, and yet feeling secure, in a sea of wonder.
Then, suddenly, I stepped unwittingly,
off the edge of a high stairwell,
clutching someone important to my heart,

still alive and heart beating within our own
then we can find a peace and a calm
that children don't need to find because. . .
they haven't lost it yet,
or we pray most have not,

and the world's atrocities can be faced
and then seen leaving
like all things do in this temporal existence.

Sometimes, when we are alone,
our problems just seem to magnify,
keeping us tossing and turning, unable to sleep.
That's when a good hoot from the 'special people'
here at Mels, cheers us up with a giggle,
or a friendly paw, or sometimes a good kick up the bum,
and this is why...

I am unable to imagine the future of my life without seeing your presence in it. Loving you has given new meaning to a life that was getting old and tired that seemed as if all had passed it by except for socially, the duty of nurturing the next generation, but now I know what I've been missing all these years, and even though I wish I'd found it sooner, It still seems worth it all to have it now, to have you in my life now.

Some people have sat here chatting to me,
asking all about me,
but offering nothing true about themselves in return.
Some have even tried to get me to meet them.
Those I had to deny may have felt sad or annoyed,
and for that , i too, feel sad.
Point is, i am one person.
I sought friends as just friends,
I sought love.... from only one.
Some have disappeared into oblivion,
for whatever reason.
Maybe they hurt and are seeking love elsewhere.
I'd like those special friends to know
if it were possible, i'd love each and every one of you,
but physically i am only me.......one person.
