What is Essence
Essence is a short two line poem. Each line of the poem has six syllables each with an internal rhyme and an end rhyme.
Emily Romano who has authored books of Haiku such as “Darkness claims the branch” and “Pear blossoms drift” among others created this form of poetry.
It is only my personal observation but feel and think that she created this form of poetry due to her very apparent love of Haiku, which is why all of the Essence poems I have read seem to have a nature theme.
Icy rain
Winds blow the shutters bang
The snow drifts the icy rain

This is nice..what is an internal rhyme - can be anywhere internal or have to be at set syllables?
I like it - thanks sweet one.

In this case it does not matter where the internal rhyme occurs as long as it is within.
There are some forms of poetry that prefer you to have your internal rhyme a certain number of words from the start of the line or from the end of the line but this is not one of them
