What brought me to you?

What brought me to you?

You once asked me:
“I know what has attracted me to you
but wonder what brought you to me?”
....
You challenged me, all my ideas, and as you dared
Facing me like no-one before ever compared,
You confronted me with your shameless confidence.
Many times I read your words again in silence
And deep inside a voice kept saying “how dare you?”
But when you reached to me I sensed all your value

You bashed me with your poignant femininity,
With affirmed womanhood, all you showed was beauty.
Fiercely sure of yourself… in me I lost the trust.
Trying to explain, I knew I was the youngest.
All that shone through your aura was a noble dame.
With every move you made, more seduced I became.

With intelligence, maturity and courage,
You showed me the ludicrous folly of my rage.
Then, I wanted to become your friend, your student.
I wanted you to let me be your good student.
I wanted to be like you, hoped you could love me.
Now, what kind of force has attracted you to me?

What brought me to you?

Perhaps, it is a good teacher who recognizes that the most gifted student needs to be constantly challenged in order for her to do her best? And, the gifted student responds by accepting the challenge and takes great pride in her hard work and accomplishments.

For the teacher, seeing a student reach and exceed their potential is all the reward she needs. And, in time, sometimes the student learns and becomes a teacher. And, sometimes the bond they share is more than like and more than love.

Love,
Blue

Blue,

To catch the slightest sign that her teacher is feeling rewarded is the most beautiful motivation for the student to surpass herself.

I know a frail elderly lady close to a hundred years old, whose exhausted mind has forgotten a century of people, wars, knowledge, love, joys and pains… Senility has slowly wiped every print in her apart from one name and one face, those of a sweet and patient young maiden who a long long time ago had taught her how to play the piano…

Yes, sometimes the bond they share is more than like and more than love and nothing, nothing can ever wipe the memory of a good teacher…

Thank you.

Love to you,

Flo

I don't remember my password for my old profile but I wanted to thank you Cookie, Eiregirl and Cavewoman for your kind comments. I admit that I had forgotten ever writing this! Honestly speaking, I don't find it very good actually!

It's so strange, it feels as if it happened a hundred years ago in a different life. Nevertheless, reading these lines again tonight is bringing back some amazingly vivid memories all of a sudden.

No idea where the person I wrote this for is today. A century seems to have past and I'm so old now, not sure she'd even recognize me... but if she did, I think she'd be proud of her old "student". True; "nothing can ever wipe the memory of a good teacher".

Thanks again Girls,

Flo
