The One

Are my eyelashes not wet...
Enough...
.................of this clichéd
Mother - daughter script, I can’t!
Crawl on my knees, it’s
Just not the way I was
Made... to.... I don’t !
Think or feel, too much
Too much, for your
Shallow pool of ‘what if’
What if I don’t?
It’s you that can’t
But I can do more
Than just ‘cope’...

I want to
Twirl in the darkness
Of my own shining
Diamonds

I need to
Rearrange the letters
Of my own alphabet
Listening as I speak

I have to
Keep in contact
With the wise
Woman who
Consistently appears
On the horizon

I am
The
One

I love the rhythm and punctuation in this piece ... and the power of the subject matter, too.
