I Dreamed Last Night
I Dreamed Last Night
By
Irene Delacorte
30 April 2008
Laying in bed my eyes grew heavy
Thinking of You, my mind a tremble
Sleep came to me, and dragged me down
Visions assaulted me, of You
As my eyes closed a dream appeared
A large cave rough hewn from the stone
The interior was pitch black
But I entered, a force pulled me in
Dressed in slave wools, my feet bare to all
Rock tore at my feet, I went on
Walls crowded in and opened at random
Strange markings upon the surfaces
Stopping I looked at them and wondered
Who or what had made the markings
Then I saw her, chained to the wall
Her flesh was clear, but her soul damned
Her hands were bound above her head
Her feet were spread in silver bands
A spear was pressed into her so deep
But she smiled as I approached her
Her eyes upon me, she tried to talk
Words failed her, as her being fled
Touching her, she was ever so cold
Her clothes were piled in the path
Looking up I saw the smile on her face
A beauteous smile that tore my soul
The ravaged body called for pain
Smiles should not have been there
Continuing down the cavern
There I saw others, bound with spears
Upon their faces, always a smile
Death had called them to their maker
Or was this death I was seeing
One moved her head ever so faintly
I saw the same enigmatic smile
Standing before her, eyes opened
Saying, “Why are you here my lovely?”
Answered, “You will join us my dear.”
Recoiling from her statement, I fled
Downward, ever so far I fled
Further and further, passing women
Now they called to me, “Join with us!”
A smoky light met my eyes
Flames before me battered my senses
The walls opened out and expanded
A cavern, place of no earthly mode
Then the smoke cleared and I saw her
Dressed in black, a vision before me
She sat on her chair and stared at me
I looked upon her and feel to my knees
Her terrifying image, alive
Leaning forward, head to the ground
Her eyes were masked, but I could see
There color changed with rapidity
From black to green, blue to red
Then back to black as she stared at me
She smiled at me and said to me
“Come to me my child, I need you.”
I arose and came closer, frightened
“You have arrived in time my child.”
Arrived in time, was I to be hers
Was my body to be displayed
Would the spear enter my soul
Did I want that?, would I do it?
Standing before her, flames to sides
Her face reflected the glow of flame
Her skin was so white, so alive
Sinking to my knees I waited
She watched me, she touched my hair
Whispering to me, “Come to me.”
“You are mine now, and forever more.”
Shivering, my head was lowered
Looking up I viewed here mouth above
Her teeth, so white in the red mouth
Tongue so long and it curled within
And lips so black, like black roses
She grasped my chin in her hand
Turning it up she looked in my eyes
“Would you join with me my Love?”
“I would do as You ask.” My Mistress
“Then strip and take your place my child”
I slowly undressed, as she watched me
Then nude I stood before her eyes
Eyes so black and cold, I shivered
Binding my hands, she raised me up
Steel bound my feet and pulled me open
She took a spear, a metal spear
And thrust it in me, my blood spilled
I felt the ecstasy of pain tear at me
Pain so terrible and yet so sweet
She smiled at me and I smiled back
Feeling the cold rock at my back
She propped the spear in me, so tight
And surveyed her work before her
She smiled, and said, “For eternity.”
Awakening, I moaned in loss
I dreamed last night
I dreamed of Her
