Accessory
She dreams the dream that never changes
Of your wicked, patterned violence
Your selfish, scathing punishments
Your spoons and belts and brushes
Your nocturnal smashings
Crashing in on children sleeping
For another round of beatings
Your self-righteous proclamations
About why I deserved
Or deeply needed
Your crushing
To make me
Good
Like her.
While she cowered in the blankets
Incapable of saving me or even
Just objecting
And her silence always haunts her
With the dream that never changes
And I can never free her
And I cannot forgive her
There is naught to forgive
I absolve her just to say it--
That she was no accomplice
She was not complicit
She was just another

It seems to me that you were both victims... and the fact that you still struggle with it in terms of needing to give or receive forgiveness is a long-term continuation of that...

I'm exonerated, still aiming at wholeness. It's a daily duty.
My sister can't seem to exonerate herself, and my absolution can't set her free. So we miss each other. A lot.

Just a little core dump. Tnx for your inputs.

{{{{ae}}}},
Your little "core dump" tells quite a poignant story.
