My Last Ride

a shot of vodka
a swig of beer
a toast to all
for fun and cheer
i drank some more
and had a ball
time to leave
it was last call
out to my car
shut the door
started it up
with pedal to floor
i could not see
everything was blurry
had to get home
i was in a hurry
window was down
to stay awake
what was i doing
for goodness sakes
it was to be
my last ride
for up ahead
flashing lights pulled me
over to the side
on went the cuffs
he said i smelled of booze
now in the back of his car
out of this one i could not schmooze
to jail i went
with no bail
now i've got
a sentence with a tail

Sometimes people learn the hard way. I was one of them, who thankfully came out alive. I gave it up because it was either gonna kill me or someone else! One day at a time is such a struggle and I've made great strides forward from where I was. Damn, now I'm addicted to this site!!!!! Laughing

What's a girl to do?
