CowDykes Lament (F)
Hot cakes and syrup
Before I climb into the stirrups
And ride you, like you never been rode
Aint ridin’ into no sunset
No that ain’t my mindset
And not how this thing will unfold
Don’t be alarmed
If we never leave the barn
Though we got some gallopin’ to do
Don’t need no the saddle
On top you I’ll straddle
No stoppin’ ‘till I’m good and through
Don’t try and make this quick
Cause you’ll taste the whip
On every lil’ part of you
Not for you to understand
‘Cause you wear my brand
And I’ll do with you, what I want to do
For the wicked never rest
To that I’d attest
Though I sometimes sneak a wink or two
I sleep with one eye open
So don’t get to hopin’
There’s some kinda chance for you.
It’s the nature of things
And those never change
Though maybe you’d like them to
A victim of circumstance
In our little barn dance
But what’s a Cowdyke to do?
No free range to ride
So I just stay inside
Tryin’ to gain back my youth
‘Cause you make me feel
Like all this is real
And that’s pretty damn
Close to the truth.

That was fun to read and depending on the type of music you wanted to set it to it could be worked into a cute little country song. You could also crank it up some and make it a hard hitting metal song or with some minor changes here and there it could be anything in between.
The fourth line of the second stanza…I think you might have left a word out there so check out that line.
I will look it over again when I get some more time.
Hugs,
