Her Dreams
Her Dreams
By
Irene Delacorte

Her dreams sought out my existence
Words flowed from her, words so soft
Kneeling before her, I listened
The years flowed and twisted for me
Colors swirled within my mind
Greens and Blues, Reds and Yellows
Dreams in colors marked my nights
But they all resolved into Black
Black as the Raven, so she says
Black as my Love, my heart does soar
Black as the deepest verdant night
Black as her soul, as she watches me
Pain and love shall be my desire
To sit and wonder at her love
Love so passionate, overwhelming
Screaming into her heart, listen
For listen must I, as she teaches
The words drip with her almighty love
The whip in her hand, held with love
The blood that flows in my psyche
Blood shall be the price I’ll pay
My pain shall be her measurement
But that I have the intention
To pay her price, my soul my debt
Am I a dream, do I float with her
Am I real, does my pain hurt her
Does she care what becomes of me
Does she love me as I Love her
The answer lies within her eyes
My pain is her glory, she cares
My pain is her sorrow, she heeds
To feel her touch, my desire
But what is real in this life
Is it her, is she reality
Or is she a black dream, mine alone
The raven tears at me, I scream
Where do I exist within her lexicon
Do I exist, or do I live for her alone
She holds me, she kisses my hurts
I realize I live in Her Dreams
