Hiya Ladies,

Just a quick update to let you know that I have ventured to the land of self-publishing with the Barnes and Noble Pubit program. I have two short stories for sale and will have some new novel length titles as soon as I can figure out how to upload the larger files Wink If you are interested in purchasing, go to Barnes and Nobles and search for Ali Spooner and they should come up automatically. You don't have to own an e-reader such as nook or kindle. Barnes and Noble has an ebook app that you can download to read from a computer or cell phone. I still have a few titles off to traditional publishers, but I thought I would give this a try.

Up to 13 sales with Barnes and Noble. Yeehaw. I also joined Smashwords.com and have Sullivan's Trace and the Buckhead Beauties short story listed there. It has many more options for downloading formats and they actually do some marketing for you. If you are interested in either of these stories you can go to Smashwords.com or just google or search Ali Spooner. Thanks for all of your support ladies!!

PS...Noni and Seska, you should both check this option out. Unlike B&N you do not have to be in the US to publish.

Great news Alli Very Happy Will definitely have a look at Smashwords as soon as I can.

Can you give us a bit of a rundown how sales with B & N actually work for you? What sort of percentage they take etc.

Alli,
That is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very cool web site. Please keep us posted on new publications.

...and I'm with you...others should consider publishing there, as well.
What a great option for all of the talented women of Mels.

The percentages are much higher 74-85% at smashwords and they do some marketing and promotions for you. There program promotes your works with all the major reader programs, nook, kindle, ipad, etc and has many more options for download formats for people who don't have readers, pdf, text files, etc. Definitely worth a look Noni.

Yay, go me Very Happy

With a lot of help and advice from Alli and some superduper cover art from Startover, I have published Amarillo in my Rearview Mirror on Smashwords.
My pen name on the site is Noni Nelson. This is a great site and I recommend it to everyone, there are books you can download for free and all books for sale can be sampled.
