Conserve and recycle

Whether you think global warming is true or not would you like to help preserver our natural resources or make this world…the only world we can currently call home…a better and safer place to live for ourselves and future generations?

If you do then there are many things you can do to help and one of those is to conserve water another is to recycle.

Here is a website that gives some wonderful tips on conserving water…
http://www.monolake.org/socalwater/wctips.htm

Here are some websites where you can find out about recycling in your area. If you do not find anything in your area on these websites then please take the time to find out if there is a recycling program in your area and if there is not…get involved in your community and see if they will start one.

http://www.irelandrecycling.ie Ireland

http://www.letsrecycle.com Northern Ireland

http://www.recycling-guide.org.uk United Kingdom

http://recyclingnearyou.com.au Australia

http://www.therecyclingcenter.info United States

http://www.recyclingcenters.org United States

http://www.loyal.com.tw/recyclin.htm Provides some sites in a few countries

In many countries of Europe producers of electronic and electrical equipment are required to develop recycling programs so that people who buy those products can return them for recycling once the product is no longer useful. I think that is wonderful because many electronic products contain elements that are harmful to the environment and in turn are harmful to us. So if you live in Europe and want to get rid of some electronic equipment find a place where it can be recycled. Many countries in Europe willingly participate in recycling and the people take great efforts to do so as well. In Berlin for example it is estimated that 7 out of 10 households participate in recycling household waste.

I look forward to the day when that number is 9 out of 10 worldwide and then 10 out of 10

Please if you have any information that you would like to share with other members here about conservation and recycling then PLEASE let us know.

Have to add to this one.....

Oil was at $98 a barrel a couple days ago..... gas is right around $3.12 a gallon. Ever heard of peak oil? If you haven't... please check it out!

one website that talks about it: http://www.theoildrum.com/

Also, polar bears are said to be gone from alaska (my home) in less than 50 years. I think at the rate the globe is changing, it will be more like 20-25. The poor bears.

It's also important to consider when shopping, what your food etc comes in. I avoid fruit & veg in packaging and ready meals (yuk) and things loads of packing as we have to also consider not creating the waste in the first place. Ruddy shopping bags are another thing to consider. I could go on and on but I shan't - simply food for thought.

i agree. however, the people who claim global warming is not real are often the same people who can't grasp the concept that most of our resources are finite, and thus, they do not care for recycling.
