Mourning/Deuil
Here is a text i wrote around two years ago.
Hope you'll like it and that my english is correct
Deuil
Mourning
It happened at the end of a morning.
A bitter taste in the air, a smell of loneliness to fill, like an omen. You're trying to be kept busy, avoiding thoughts, in vain.
When finally you find an once of serenity, the dark and cold reality suddenly comes up.
Like a wraith going away to be sure to frighten you: here it comes, the bad news, the kiss of death, "it's over he's gone in his sleep" "is that true?" you ask hoping a "no, of course not".
So expectable but so painful anyway.
You can try forget it, but it's like to close a door and leave a window open.
Then it's time of preparations. You think about something else and at the same time you're deeply locked in this situation.
Conviviality of the family is so reassuring, maternal love is coming back as it use to be, and you feel like you have to refill yourself with all this love, fulfil this eternal emptiness, a swirling black hole.
You have to ease this bitter taste.
Finally, you want everything to be perfect, you feel like your pain is not important compare to the pain of the others.
So you have to be here, and supportive.
Now it is the day of the funeral, and it's only in the cemetery in front of the grave that you really realise what happened, it's even written on the grave so you cannot forget.
And again, family, expressions of simpathy, the sugar of a bitter coffee.
And finally, the emptiness, inexpressible, tireless, the loneliness: the return of usual life.
I can't call anyone "grandpa" anymore. _________________ Ale
