Footsie,

Alot of good ideas! I haven't been to any of those places yet so I'd be game for them. Heck, I haven't even got over to Scotland yet! If all goes as planned I should be there for next summer.

Will check back as more ideas are thrown about . I'm sure with the options in the UK and Europe we've got the world at our hands!

Mairi,

I don't know that the midges would bite at me! Most of the biting critters such as midges don't like me! They do bite the Mrs so I'll be plastering her with mossi-gard(sp?) Call me crazy but i find the scent of Mossi-gard kind of sexy! Shocked

How about Germany…Here are a couple of places to check out.

http://www.purpleroofs.com/lesdeuxmarie-gmy.html
Lesbian owned bed and breakfast in Ebenhofen, Germany - women-only b&b near the German Alps in Bavaria, close to the Switzerland and Austrian borders.

Artemisia Hotel for Women – Berlin, Germany
http://www.purpleroofs.com/artemisia-gmy.html
Lesbian owned hotel in Berlin, Germany – women only hotel in the center of the West Town, just few minutes walk from the Kurfurstendamm.

A website to look at for further information on gay-lesbian travel in Germany.
http://www.cometogermany.com/pages/812.htm

Perhaps France…Here is a website that has some accommodation information.

http://www.gaytravelfrance.com

Perhaps renting a Chalet?

Maybe Switzerland…

Zurich hotels…
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g188113-Zurich-Hotels.html

Advertised as gay or gay friendly hotels
https://www.zuerich.com/zurich/gay_lesbian/accommodation/index.html?__locale=en
I have heard that the Goldenes Schwert is a very nice hotel and I know the Adler is very nice.

While hotels can be very nice and range in luxury from the very nice five star variety down to the one star roach hotel there are alternatives such as the hostels in Switzerland and Austria are nice and serve the purpose…we have used them in the past and they are very nice especially in Switzerland.
For more information on hostels…
http://europeforvisitors.com/switzaustria/articles/hostels.htm

Hostels are also something that could be looked at for worldwide travel…we only have minor experience with hostels and that is in Switzerland and it was not a bad experience.

For the hostelling international website…

Hmm other places…

Awesome, Eire, thanks so much!

Switzerland is GORGEOUS...... Bavarian Alps are super pretty, too. Berlin is LOTS TO DO...in the scene, too.

But if SUI or GEr....ONLY in the summer, everything else I can't recommend you...unless in the winter for skiing! Smile

I will most likely/hopefully be on the Spanish island of Mallorca both in February and late March. In late March I will probably stay a bit longer and be just a vacationer after taht race I will be having there. There are TONS of places on Mallorca...haven't checked into cmaping yet, though. Pretty cheap places to stay there and flights are very convenient and very cheap from all over Europe there.

I have to go, will be gone for 2 weeks now. Cheers y'alll and take care of yourselves,

Footsie

Thanks Eire, very helpful!

I really like the sound of te one in the German alps:

Looks like a nice relaxing place too.

Otherwise I'd be game for Italy like Footsie suggested earlier, or Mallorca sounds good too.

Hi there Dark,

I just saw your post now. We haven't kept on our ideas about a European campout....unfortunately! yes, who is still up for a campout??? Eire suggested Germany.... yes, we do have some really nice spots around here in the South of Germany. I have a very tight schedule so I don't know if I will able to attend, but if you want to come to Germany, I can always help you translate if you need any help. Plus, I think the chances may be greater for me to attend if you want ot come over here. I definitel yhave ot bring my bike, however. Weatherwise, June, Juy and August are OK here.

As for Mallorca... I was there November/December for just over 3 weeks. It was wicked. I will be back in the end of March but only for a week for a race. After, I have to leave striaght away to do my military service.

So if anyone is up for a campout June and later... raise your arm! Let's get that discusison going again..... I will only be able to discuss this issue until the end of January because after that I will be offline until June... maybe we can get something rolling until then already? I hope a European campout will take place, and I am certainly willing to give you tips or help even if I end up not being able to attend.

Cheers from GER,

Footsie
