1 ½ cups dry pinto beans
½ cup chopped onion
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp cumin
¼ cup tomato sauce
¼ tsp salt
1 ¼ cups grated cheese
1 ¼ cups chopped lettuce
1 ¼ cups chopped tomatoes
2/3 cup green chilis
Soak beans overnight, then drain water. Add onion, chili powder, garlic powder and cumin. Simmer in water with a lid for 2 hours or until beans are tender. (Stir as needed). Mash beans slightly with a spoon, add tomato sauce and salt. Mix well. Cook for 15 more minutes, then divide beans and other toppings among 5 fry breads.
